Welcome to Hidden Peninsula's website where you can find information describing our four recently remodeled and/or new lakefront rental cottages on Ackley Lake in beautiful Paw Paw, located in southwest Michigan.
We are located on over 4 acres (one acre of woods), with approximately 2,000 feet of shoreline, on beautiful Ackley Lake - a short drive (or fun canoe paddle with the canoe we provide) from the town of Paw Paw - southwest Michigan's quaint winery town. Our cottages are nestled at the end of a peninsula (see 'additional photo link') on Ackley Lake. Our southwest Michigan lakefront, two-bedroom rental cabins are located in a beautiful, tranquil setting. Each rental cottage/cabin is fully equipped including linens, complete kitchens, fire pits, and more. A boat and/or canoe is included with each cottage. In this site you will find cottage descriptions, rental fees, directions and links to places of interest and things to do while you enjoy your stay in your lakefront cottage in Southwest Michigan. Our recently built and/or remodeled cottages are conveniently located midway between Chicago and Detroit. Approximately 20 miles west of Kalamazoo.
In addition to weekly family rentals, we are a great alternative to bed and breakfast or "hotel/motel lodging" when visiting Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Davenport University, or any other Paw Paw or Kalamazoo entertainment. Why not get tickets to a premier show at Miller Auditorium, or a Western Michigan Football or WMU Basketball game (about a 20 minute drive) and return to your lakefront cabin for the week or weekend? Paw Paw is conveniently located to several premier golf courses in southwest Michigan. A little over an hour's drive south, you'll find the Amish villages of Middlebury and Shipshewanna (a wonderful way to spend a day). Traveling west approximately 30 miles will take you to the beach in South Haven (another fun place to visit). Return back to your cottage on the lake for an afternoon of swimming, boating, fishing and a cookout followed by a peaceful, quiet evening around your campfire.
Ackley Lake is a mid-sized all-sports lake approximately 65 acres. It is connected to Maple Lake (approximately 200 acres), also an all-sports lake, via a 9' tunnel under M-40. Canoe from our cottages right into the town of Paw Paw or visit the lovely town park on an island in Maple Lake. Perhaps you'd like to fish at the dam where the Paw Paw River flows to Lake Michigan or just kick back and relax by your lakefront cottage.
